We now know how the Blackstone and Weber businesses will operate — and the fate of their popular product lines.
Blackstone and Weber have announced the completion of a merger that will bring the companies together in the BBQ space.
Blackstone, a manufacturer of outdoor griddles since 2008, and Weber, a world-renowned organization known for its grills with more than 70 years of experience, will continue their operations under their respective brand identities.
The companies say that while each brand will continue to operate independently, Blackstone will benefit by leveraging Weber’s existing distribution network — potentially giving the company access to a wider customer base.
Alongside the merger, there will be changes in leadership. Weber’s CEO, Alan Matula, plans to retire, while Blackstone’s founder, Roger Dahle, will manage the future business and serve as CEO.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce the new leader in outdoor cooking, built upon the proud legacies of both Weber and Blackstone,” Dahle commented. “Bringing together our shared passion for outdoor cooking experiences, we look forward to leveraging our combined strengths to drive growth and innovation for the benefit of our retail partners, consumers, and team members.”
