Is generative AI in the barbeque space a buzzword, or truly useful?
When we think of smart grills, advanced temperature control, improved heat conduction, or extensive air flow controls may come to mind.
However, it’s 2025 – and the buzzword of the year is artificial intelligence (AI). At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Vegas, the word was thrown about with abandon at many stalls focused on consumer products: and this included the cooking industry.
Brisk It, the makers of “generative AI-powered grills,” revealed the Zelos 450 Smart Grill at CES this year.
Packed into a form factor suitable for those with limited outside space with 450 square inches of cooking space, the wood pellet-based Zelos line of smart grills not only provides ample room for the backyard cook with a temperature range of 180°F to 500°F, but has been designed to work with Vera 2.0, the latest version of Brisk It’s AI cooking assistant.
Vera is a useful tool for smoking, especially if you’re new to the barbeque world and would appreciate some help with longer and more complex cooks. Type in what you want to cook, and Vera will lay out the process step-by-step – and will also tweak the recipe (and adjust the temperature) should you miss a stage.
It will be interesting to see what the latest version brings. According to Brisk It, we can expect image recognition capabilities, grilling simplification, recipe recreation, and ingredient-inspired ideas for your next cooking session.
“These groundbreaking new digital and product innovations reflect Brisk It’s commitment to making wood-smoked BBQ simpler, smarter, and more accessible for everyone,” the company says.
The Brisk It Zelos 450 will be available for purchase in Q1 2025 on Amazon.com, at BriskItGrills.com, and other retailers.
